The Monday Movie Review with WANZIEandDOUG!

The Philips Phile on Real Radio 104.1 FM - Orlando!
Click Here for more on the Philips Phile!
Welcome to the Monday Movie Review with WANZIE and DOUG!

Tune in to Real Radio 104.1 FM in Orlando every Monday afternoon around 5:15 PM to hear the boys discuss the movies.  Smack dab in the middle of Orlando's longest-running, extremely popular talk-radio show The Philips Phile, the guys dish out the pink triangles, talk about what they liked or disliked, and tell you whether or not you should waste your money on a ticket to see the movie of the week.  OK, who are we kidding.  They do get around to talking about movies, but you actually never know just what is going to come out of their mouths once they get going.

It's worth listening in just to see if WANZIE can manage to keep the FCC from throwing down a fine or two for something that he's blurted out.  After all, once they hit that delay or bleep button, it takes a while to build it back up.  You'll be on pins and needles with the next edition of the Monday Movie Review with WANZIE and DOUG.  And be sure to tune into The Philip's Phile on Real Radio 104.1 FM, Monday thru Friday from 3-7 PM.

If you don't reside in the Central Florida area, you can tune in to the show on the Internet.  Check out The Philips Phile online here!  You can also catch delayed presentations of the show on XM satellite radio (Extreme XM - Channel 152).  It airs the entire show three-hours later (6-10 PM).  You can catch the guys on XM at approximately 8:10 PM.

Week of December 14, 2009 Review

WANZIE

"It's a history making film. The theater was packed with adults. The music is wonderful. It was fabulous. I can't wait for the drag queens to start doing the music at the Parliament House. It is a gorgeous earthy film. I love it."

"75 percent of the movie is two frogs talking to each other. I don't to watch two animated frogs singing and dancing through the whole movie. It was boring with some weird animation. The songs are not memorable at all. It is not a classic. I am not a fan of animation. "

Week of December 7, 2009 Review

WANZIE

"Quite possible the worst Christmas movie I have ever seen. We are not going to encourage anyone to go see this movie. There is not a feel good moment in it at all. The director and editor need to be shot. It was so damn dreadful, I wanted to slit my wrists. Afterwards you're like Why did they make that movie? The real travesty is billing this as a Christmas movie. I would not even rent this movie. Whoever wrote it decided that you as the viewer could not discern for yourself what thought could be in a character's head at any given moment. Every soap opera gimmick was put in this movie."

"Everything's Trite.  It was just horrible. No one in the theater liked it. The writer needs to be shot. The movie fell flat in every possible way. Robert DeNiro plays out of type. Stinker. If you rented it you would change the channel. Not even your mother's going to want to see it. Movie was made like they were making a masterpiece and it wasn't. "

The Pink Triangles!
It's all about the pink triangles folks!  Yes, every now and then the guys actually discuss movies.  And in doing so, they generally share what they liked or didn't like about the movie, or even the movie-going experience.  We capture a few of those quotes here.  But it really comes down to the triangles.  Here's what they represent:
One Pink Triangle! Stinko. Not worth seeing under any circumstances.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! Below average. Not worth the cost of admission plus the gas to get to the theater. Wait for it to come to cable.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! A competent, entertaining film. Nothing extraordinary, but certainly worth the ticket price.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! Excellent. Highly recommended.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! A Classic! A must-see film that should absolutely be experienced in a proper theater setting.
