The Monday Movie Review with WANZIEandDOUG!

The Philips Phile on Real Radio 104.1 FM - Orlando!
Click Here for more on the Philips Phile!
Welcome to the Monday Movie Review with WANZIE and DOUG!

Tune in to Real Radio 104.1 FM in Orlando every Monday afternoon around 5:15 PM to hear the boys discuss the movies.  Smack dab in the middle of Orlando's longest-running, extremely popular talk-radio show The Philips Phile, the guys dish out the pink triangles, talk about what they liked or disliked, and tell you whether or not you should waste your money on a ticket to see the movie of the week.  OK, who are we kidding.  They do get around to talking about movies, but you actually never know just what is going to come out of their mouths once they get going.

It's worth listening in just to see if WANZIE can manage to keep the FCC from throwing down a fine or two for something that he's blurted out.  After all, once they hit that delay or bleep button, it takes a while to build it back up.  You'll be on pins and needles with the next edition of the Monday Movie Review with WANZIE and DOUG.  And be sure to tune into The Philip's Phile on Real Radio 104.1 FM, Monday thru Friday from 3-7 PM.

If you don't reside in the Central Florida area, you can tune in to the show on the Internet.  Check out The Philips Phile online here!  You can also catch delayed presentations of the show on XM satellite radio (Extreme XM - Channel 152).  It airs the entire show three-hours later (6-10 PM).  You can catch the guys on XM at approximately 8:10 PM.

Week of October 26, 2009 Review

WANZIE

I thought it was a lovely film.

It was a slice of life movie about a very famous person.

Hillary Swank was amazing. She will be nominated for an Oscar."

I loved the whole montage where they showed all her endorsements.

It was an inspiring story."

"Bundle of Boredom!

It was just horrible. It wasn't inspiring.

I didn't feel like I knew her after the show.

An hour and half of sheer boredom and 10 minutes of excitement when she dies.

Nothing was complete."

"It was funny, but it fizzled at the end. Vince Vaughn gets a lot of expression on his face."

"Parts were funny. Parts were painful. It's mindless. I did laugh out loud a few times. It all turns out well in the end."

Week of October 12, 2009 Review

WANZIE

"Michael Moore does a few funny things in the film and backs up a Brinks truck to AIG and Bank of America ... he does a couple of cute things like that. It's enough that you want to go slit your wrist or bomb Goldman Sachs. It is soberingly true and truthful.  Fact check groups have said that he has his facts correct. It's brilliant. It highlights a lot of politicians that I have never heard of, like Marcy Kaptur, Congresswoman from Ohio. She's just on fire, addressing Congress when they were defeating the first stimulus bill. You know who you are, you know who drank the Kool-Aid, you're putting the last nail in the coffin to end democracy. You're letting Goldman Sachs run the country.. It's as though he (Michael Moore) came to the realization, "I'm not going to leave any room for criticism, I get all the facts."

The Pink Triangles!
It's all about the pink triangles folks!  Yes, every now and then the guys actually discuss movies.  And in doing so, they generally share what they liked or didn't like about the movie, or even the movie-going experience.  We capture a few of those quotes here.  But it really comes down to the triangles.  Here's what they represent:
One Pink Triangle! Stinko. Not worth seeing under any circumstances.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! Below average. Not worth the cost of admission plus the gas to get to the theater. Wait for it to come to cable.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! A competent, entertaining film. Nothing extraordinary, but certainly worth the ticket price.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! Excellent. Highly recommended.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! A Classic! A must-see film that should absolutely be experienced in a proper theater setting.
