The Monday Movie Review with WANZIEandDOUG!

The Philips Phile on Real Radio 104.1 FM - Orlando!

Welcome to the Monday Movie Review with WANZIE and DOUG!

Tune in to Real Radio 104.1 FM in Orlando every Monday afternoon around 5:15 PM to hear the boys discuss the movies.  Smack dab in the middle of Orlando's longest-running, extremely popular talk-radio show The Philips Phile, the guys dish out the pink triangles, talk about what they liked or disliked, and tell you whether or not you should waste your money on a ticket to see the movie of the week.  OK, who are we kidding.  They do get around to talking about movies, but you actually never know just what is going to come out of their mouths once they get going.

It's worth listening in just to see if WANZIE can manage to keep the FCC from throwing down a fine or two for something that he's blurted out.  After all, once they hit that delay or bleep button, it takes a while to build it back up.  You'll be on pins and needles with the next edition of the Monday Movie Review with WANZIE and DOUG.  And be sure to tune into The Philip's Phile on Real Radio 104.1 FM, Monday thru Friday from 3-7 PM.

If you don't reside in the Central Florida area, you can tune in to the show on the Internet.  Check out The Philips Phile online here!  You can also catch delayed presentations of the show on XM satellite radio (Extreme XM - Channel 152).  It airs the entire show three-hours later (6-10 PM).  You can catch the guys on XM at approximately 8:10 PM.

Week of September 28, 2009 Review

WANZIE

"The original movie was kind of edgy.

How you can make a movie about a school of performance arts and not have one gay character is beyond me. That really annoyed me.

It didn't have an ending. They didn't sing I Sing the Body Electric.

The talent was amazing.

It was very one dimensional."

DOUG

"It was pretty good.

Nowhere near as good as the original

Too may story lines and not enough heart.

The musical numbers came off well.

I don't know why they made it."

Week of September 21, 2009 Review

WANZIE

"It was so damn trite, I almost slit my wrists.

It was billed as a comedy, but it wasn't funny. I resent the fact I didn't get from the trailer how maudlin the movie is.

I didn't like the writing.

I was completely bored by it.

You were completely aware of everywhere that they thought that they were going to make you laugh and you didn't laugh."

DOUG

"It was darker then I thought it was going to be.

The wasn't any laughter and the whole thing was boring.

Deals a lot with death.

I cried a lot."

Week of September 14, 2009 Review

WANZIE

"The only reason you would see this movie is if you really like to see a lot of people open one door and then open another over and over and over, 45 to 79 times throughout the entire movie.

"We were so distracted by how bad the movie was that we lost most of the story."

"Don't bother."

DOUG

"It has the worst computer animation I have ever seen."

"There is a twist at the end, but it was ridiculous."

"Don't go see it."

The Pink Triangles!
It's all about the pink triangles folks!  Yes, every now and then the guys actually discuss movies.  And in doing so, they generally share what they liked or didn't like about the movie, or even the movie-going experience.  We capture a few of those quotes here.  But it really comes down to the triangles.  Here's what they represent:
One Pink Triangle! Stinko. Not worth seeing under any circumstances.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! Below average. Not worth the cost of admission plus the gas to get to the theater. Wait for it to come to cable.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! A competent, entertaining film. Nothing extraordinary, but certainly worth the ticket price.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! Excellent. Highly recommended.
One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! One Pink Triangle! A Classic! A must-see film that should absolutely be experienced in a proper theater setting.
