DOUGLAS WHITE IN PIGS SPOTLIGHT:
In the Pig Spotlight: DOUG WHITE!Douglas’s company - D-Squared Productions (co-owned with Karen Brown) is a producing partner of WHEN PIGS FLY.  Rehearsals for the show are currently being held in the D-Squared production facility located in the Lake Ivanhoe area of Orlando. Doug is co-designing the entire costume plot for the show, along with Marcy Singhaus of WANZIE Presents, who together with D-Squared staff stitcher - Richard Kuntz, are fabricating all of the 52 specialty costumes required for the show. Douglas is also the Choreographer for WHEN PIGS FLY, so he sews all day long and then conducts dance rehearsals in the evening, all while still overseeing ongoing theme park obligations along with convention bookings. He’s a very busy very talented man!

Doug White's second-grade class photo! It all started with a little boy in West Branch, MI, donning a turkey costume in his second grade Thanksgiving Day pageant.

After conquering high school and community theater, Douglas attended Central Michigan University, where he received a Bachelors of Science in Theater and Interpretation. While at CMU, he had the opportunity to perform, choreograph and direct several shows, some of which gained him national recognition and the privilege to perform some of his original work at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. Douglas started his professional career by landing the role of Action in West Side Story and was recognized as "putting intense passionate energy back into an old classic." He has carried that passion with him as he performed around the world either by land or by sea and is proud to call Orlando his home since 1987. Douglas performed for 17 years at the Walt Disney World Resort in various shows and special events including The Kids of The Kingdom and Pleasure Island Explosion Dancers but more recently opening both The Festival of the Lion King and Tarzan Rocks at Disney‘s Animal Kingdom.

Doug White can dance! He has also performed in various shows at Universal Studios Orlando and at Sea World Florida.  Douglas has had the opportunity to perform with such stars as Carol Lawrence, Betty White, Michael Knight, Michael Feinstein, Bea Arthur and Debbie Allen and the list goes on. He is happy to have started his own production company, D Squared Productions, which has landed such corporate events as Radio Shack, Lens Crafters, Ortho-McNeal, Johnson & Johnson, Siemens and Westinghouse, AT&T, The Home Depot, People Magazine, Ford Motors, Ernst and Doug created a mascot for the Tangerine Bowl!Young to mention a few. At D Squared, he wears many hats.  He is the producer, director and choreographer, among many other things.  Douglas is proud and honored to have produced Headdress Ball 2002 and 2003, which raised over $350,000.00 for the Hope and Help Center of Central FL, a local AIDS organization.  Douglas is still making is mark in the sports world as the Florida Citrus Sports mascot, performing at several functions, making guest appearances and leading off the Citrus Bowl Parade.

This new mascot is one that he designed and created.

We at the WANZeGRAM and WANZIE PRESENTS just can’t wait for you to see Doug’s designs in When Pigs Fly, as well as his choreography, and the even the occasional cameo appearance.

This production of When Pigs Fly would quite simply not have been possible without the substantial talents that Douglas White and D-Squared Productions bring to the project.

BATHHOUSE TO PERFORM AT PARLIAMENT HOUSE!
The Parliament House and WANZIE Presents are proud to present the 2008 National Tour Cast, from New York City, in the new, full 90-minute version of the show that won Patron’s Pick at the 2006 Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival and went on to play to packed houses at the Footlight Theater throughout that summer.

Bathhouse: The Musical! is a musical comedy written by Orlando residents Esther Daack and Tim Evanicki.  The show follows the story of Billy, a wide-eyed youth venturing into a bathhouse for the very first time.  He’s looking for love, but soon realizes that the other patrons are looking for something ... a little more temporary.  With some guidance, Billy soon learns the ins and outs of bathhouse etiquette.  Taking cues from crowd-pleasers like Forever Plaid and Naked Boys Singing, Bathhouse: The Musical! promises loads of laughs, original songs, four guys in towels, and even a bit of heart.

The 2008 National Tour is being produced by NYC’s The Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, which is well-known nationally for developing Nunsense and producing the world premiere of Forever Plaid, as well as recent national tours of Ain’t Misbehavin’, Snoopy, and Trailer Park: The Musical!

JOIN YOUR FRIENDS AT THE WDW AMPHITHEATER:
Did you live in Florida? Did you vote in the Democratic Primary?  Do you want your vote to be counted? Come join the charge and sign the petition to have your Democratic presidential primary vote count – and be entertained at the same time.

WANZIE & Kenny Howard are organizing some great entertainment for this important event being held at the WDW Amphitheater (formerly “The band shell”) at Orlando’s Lake Eola Park on Saturday, April 26th.

Guest speakers will be introduced by WANZeGRAM subscriber & political activist JEFF HORN. Among others, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer is expected to lend his voice to the refrain– “We want our votes to count!”

Rally in the park: THIS SATURDAY!

Even if you did not vote in the primary, you can still sign the petition.

No yet registered to vote in Florida?  You can register to vote for the general election at the rally!

GREAT ENTERTAINMENT:
WANZIE & Howard will introduce the featured performers, which, among others will include keyboard artist JOHN B. deHAAS and the cast of WHEN PIGS FLY – Sam Singhaus, David Lee, David Dorman, Frank McClain & WANZIE. Also powerhouse vocalist ANDREA CANNY will perform, and MS. BECKY FISHER will sing Pink’s “Dear Mr. President”, and they are working on getting a band.

This rally is one of seven that will be taking place simultaneously across the state of Florida. The petitions will be hand-delivered to the DNC in Washington in the form of a protest to demand that Florida’s votes be counted and that we as citizens are not disenfranchised due to a decision, to change the date of the Florida primary, in which we as individuals played no part in making and over which we had no say what so ever.

“It is a fundamental right to have voted in this process.
No one person, group, or organization has the authority to deprive the citizens of Florida of their legal vote.”

If you agree with the above statement, PLEASE meet your friends and neighbors at the WDW Amphitheater in Lake Eola Park at 11 AM on Saturday, April 26th.  For more information, go to: http://www.floridademandsrepresentation.org

A NOTE FROM WANZIE!
Jesus Christ almighty!  Think of all the good that could have been accomplished if the obscene amounts of money spent on the Pope’s visit had actually been spent on something that mattered; for instance (as Jesus supposedly encouraged) helping the least among us, as opposed to worshiping a man who lives in absolute luxury and splendor and sitting him on an enormous throne in the middle of Yankee stadium, as though he were God himself, surrounded by hundreds of men in fancy costumes, none of which has one single-itty-bitty thing to do with the teachings of Christ.

The Pope’s visit cost MILLIONS of dollars. In the meantime Catholic dioceses across the nation are closing Parishes right and left, declaring them bankrupt, as AIDS continues to be a killer, especially among the less educated, who are admonished by this Pope NOT to use condoms.

And may I remind you all once again that it is a fact the previous position held by Pope Benedict XVI was that of an official Vatican emissary who was responsible for coalescing with American Bishops concerning the practice of covertly transferring, from one Parish to the next, Catholic Priests who had molested children. Now the Pope has the nerve to meet with victims and console them as though he played no role in this travesty, when in fact he was completely aware of, and turned a blind eye to, the entire ongoing situation. The Cardinal, who would become this Pope, literally gave his blessing to those transfers, and together with American clerics, took an active role in making the decision to hide these misdeeds from the families of the victims, the parishioners, and the law. In fact the Cardinal who would become this Pope actually penned and signed a letter to American Bishops exhorting them to take care to conceal any Priestly molestation of children that may have occurred in their respective diocese until the statute of limitations would expire. That is fact!

Where was the press?

Why, during The Pope’s visit to this land of molestation - America the Scene of the Catholic Sex Crimes - was there no reporting of the above facts? Why wasn’t the Pope’s past and the role he played in the pervasive evil-doing by American Priests not brought to light during the obscene and inexplicable American exaltation of this MAN who committed such grievous sins against the children of this country?  Why did the Pope and the Catholic Church get this enormous pass from the press during the Pope's visit to America, even as children were being pulled from their parents who are involved in a less popular religion in Texas?

So allow me to report what the so-called 4th Estate would not: The POPE is a criminal!

So it’s no wonder George W trotted out to the tarmac to personally greet the Nazi bastard.

Birds of a feather.

And speaking of criminals, be sure to join me and Margo and Jack and Kenny and Jeff and John and Becky and Andrea and Buddy and the cast of WHEN PIGS FLY at the Rally on Saturday! (See listing above)

And don’t forget ...
